ACCT 630 - Accounting Information Systems
This course provides a conceptual framework for designing and implementing accounting information systems. Topics include the systems development life cycle, a structured approach to systems analysis, internal control and SAS 55, file and database management, and enterprise systems. To provide a broad perspective, organization behavioral theory related to systems design and use are examined. Organizational culture, decision-making style, and communication concepts are incorporated into the discussion of report design. SAP R/3 software will be used in this course.

MGT 651 - Value/Supply Chain Management - SAP
The primary objective of this course is to analyze critical activities in the production system and to investigate opportunities for process improvement for increasing the products value from the customers perspective. During the course students will be exposed to SAP R/3 system and a series of hands-on applications will be used. The purpose of supply/value chain management is to help the company to deliver ever-improving product value for customers through the continuous improvement of overall manufacturing performance and capabilities. Within the value chain management spectrum which starts with product development and continues through delivery and customer service, the place of production systems is at the most critical center since through the production process, shapes and the nature of materials are altered to provide increased value for the customers. Some of the topics to be covered will include product and process design, supply chain management, inventory management, master planning, material and capacity requirements planning, production activity control, facilities planning, demand management, design of work systems, and other related issues.

MKT 642 - Technology in Marketing
Much of the change facing marketing managers today is related to the amount of technology available to them. Many software packages have been developed that enable marketers to reach their objectives more efficiently and effectively. Widely used in large companies, enterprise-wide resource planning systems often force marketers to systematize their internal marketing and sales processes, which results in internal processes that provide better customer service. Technology has also provided marketers with additional mew and diverse methods for interacting with their customers-for example, the Internet and customer interaction centers-while substantially altering old methods, such as television and mail. The marketing of high technology products themselves requires a different view of familiar marketing concepts such as the product life cycle. This course provides marketing managers some knowledge of marketing tools available to them.

IS 601 (Formerly MIS 601)-Process Analysis and Workflow Management
A seminar course surveying current information issues, emphasizing the role of information as a strategic resource. This course examines the role of information technologies in supporting business processes. There is an emphasis on business process analysis, design and implementation methodologies. In-depth coverage of workflow computing issues and the managerial role within this technology. Students are given hands-on assignments utilizing SAP R/3. Case studies and projects are used extensively in order to strengthen a student's ability to diagnose deficiencies and propose the redesign of core organizational processes. Students develop a working knowledge of process flow models.

An understanding of business decision-making process using computer systems. This course integrates decision making, systems, modeling, and support. Students gain experience in knowledge representation and creating decision aids using various decision support tools including expert systems.

ERP systems have become prevalent in many organizations and continue to grow. This course explores ERP systems and their impact on organizations. Planning and analyzing the feasibility of ERP systems for the organization is emphasized. Students will do a series of hands-on exercises with SAP.

IS 607 - Programming for ERP Systems
The purpose of this course is to provide the students with an introduction to ERP programming languages. This class will use the ABAP/4 programming language in developing special reports and function in the SAP/R3 system.

An examination of the accountant's role in developing cost analyses for management decisions is conducted in the areas of capital investment, performance evaluation, product pricing, intra-company transfer pricing, etc. Students are also exposed to cost allocation in more detail. In addition, students are introduced to the behavioral implications of accounting systems.

This course is designed to present current topics and issues related to information technology. Spring 2000 this course will concentrate on ERP systems, emphasizing process analysis and workflow management. The course will focus on the role of ERP systems in business. During the course students will be exposed to SAP R/3 system and a series of hands-on applications will be used. Various SAP modules will be introduced such as CO, FI, PP, and workflow, Spring 2001 on - it is it's own course - MIS 430: Organizations of the 1990's have concentrated on the reengineering and redesign of their business processes in order to sustain their competitive advantage. In order to survive in the 21st century, organizations have focused on integrating enterprise-wide technology solutions in an attempt to improve their business processes. The largest of these information technology solutions has been in the area of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems. This course introduces the student to ERP systems and the role of workflow management in enabling those systems. The student will examine the ERP market then experience an overview of one of these ERPs - SAP R/3. The student will be introduced to various modules of SAP R/3 and receive basic hands-on experience with SAP R/3. There is an emphasis on analysis and design of business processes in order to improve organizational workflow. As a result, the student will gain experience with SAP Business Workflow. This course covers both functional and technical issues.

MKT 4O9 - Customer Relationship Management
Customer relationship management (CRM) is a business strategy that enables companies to understand and connect with their customers more effectively. Emerging technologies permit firms to become more customer-centric--a new strategic imperative. Defining and implementing and effective CRM strategy is currently a key topic for marketers. The technology available to support a CRM strategy is new and rapidly changing, requiring that marketers rethink their interactions with customers. In this course, students will learn about how a company crafts and implements a strategy to coordinate and integrate all of the various touch points available to a customer, including Web pages, call centers, ant the field sales force. Various CRM software packages will be examined and discussed. Technology will be explored from the point of view of the technology purchaser and user, so a technical background is not necessary. Projects and exercises will enable students to become familiar with a variety to the software packages.
