Borrowing Policies
Widener Faculty, Staff, and Students
Current Widener faculty, administration, staff, emeritus faculty of the Pennsylvania Campus and Law School and registered students may borrow library materials from the circulation stacks of the library. Patrons from all Widener campuses are required to have a current Widener University identification card.
Widener Alumni
Widener alumni must obtain a card issued by the Alumni Office. Once you get the card from the Alumni Engagement Office, come to the Wolfgram Memorial Library to get the barcode number. The card allows you to borrow books, with a ten book maximum. Books circulate for 28 days. Alumni are also welcome to use the library's databases while visiting the library.
Scholars and Professionals
Local scholars and professionals who show their current driver's license and another form of identification qualifying them as scholars or professionals may be issued a visitor's borrowing card. Presently, borrowing is limited to the current semester.
Local High School and College Students
Local area high school and college students must present a letter on official stationary from their librarian or senior administrator. The letter must contain a responsibility clause in order for visitor's borrowing priviledges to be extended and be presented along with a current photo I.D. The letter will be kept in a file at the Circulation desk. Cards are valid only for the length of time indicated in the letter but no longer than the end of the current semester.
Please Note: The Wolfgram Memorial Library is unable to mail books to patrons.

Renewals
Books may be renewed one time, whether in person, by phone at 610-499-4067, or online. Online renewal is available from the My Library Account feature of WebPAC the library catalog. However, you will be unable to use this function if the items you are attempting to renew are overdue. You may also be unable to renew if you have outstanding charges on your account.
Books on which there is a hold for another patron may not be renewed.
Fines
Overdue charges are $.50 per day per book. If not paid in a timely manner, fines will be forwarded to the Bursar's office and applied to your university account. All borrowers except faculty, staff and administrators are subject to overdue fines on circulating books. Staff members are obliged to pay fines on Reserve items and Interlibrary Loan materials.
Lost books are assessed at $75.00 which includes a non-refundable processing fee of $20.00. If books are not returned within 30 days after being invoiced, replacement charges may be forwarded to the Bursar's office. Personal copies are not accepted as replacement for lost books.
Overdue reserve items, interlibrary loan items, and recalled items are charged a fine of $1.00 per day per item beyond the due date.
Overdue notices are sent out one week after the due date. Please note that failure to receive such a notice does not relieve the borrower of responsibility for the return of library materials or for payment of any accumulated charges.
Holds and Recalls
You may request that a hold be placed in your name for a book that is in circulation. You will be notified when the book is returned. The library will hold the book for a maximum of 10 days.
A book in circulation may be recalled at any time to be placed on reserve by a faculty member for a current course. A book in circulation may be recalled, after an initial 14-day loan period, by a patron who has need of the item.
